​Tye Blanton was the son of slain Trooper Shawn Blanton and wife Michaela. Tye fought with numerous medical conditions, including congestive heart failure at the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Memorial Mission Hospital until his death at 4 1/2 months.



To honor Tye, the Tye Blanton Foundation supplies items for premature and sick infants of the NICU to give a sense of personality and comfort to these infants and help parents make the NICU a home away from home.
